How do I get the best cleaning performance with Purex® 3-in-1™?

    1. Simply drop the laundry sheet into the washer. The detergent is released during the wash cycle.
    2. Once wash is complete, transfer the laundry sheet with clothes to dryer. The stripe is heat activated by the dryer to soften and remove static.

Should I add Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ to the washer drum before adding water (and if so, how much water)?

Top-Loading Washer: Start washer, add Laundry Sheet, then add clothes. The amount of water used depends upon your load size and washing machine setting.

Front-Loading HE Washer: Add Laundry Sheet with clothes, start washer. The motion of the water as it enters the drum will activate the sheet.

Can Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ be used with other additives—chlorine bleach, color-safe bleach and laundry boosters (e.g., borax)?

Purex® 3-in-1™ provides great cleaning performance in any temperature of water.

Can you use Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ for hand washing?

It is not recommended to be used for hand washing

Does adding a second sheet add to the cleaning power? If so, when is a second sheet needed?

Adding an extra sheet does increase the cleaning power but this is not needed unless you have an extra large load or a load that is extremely dirty.

Is it okay to cut the sheets in half to use?

Yes, but it is not recommended. Depending on load size, it may impact product performance. We recommend doing full loads because it saves energy and time.

Does one sheet equal one cup of traditional laundry detergent?

  • Product Development/Safety

How similar are the ingredients in 3-in-1™ to the traditional products it replaces?

3-in-1™ is similar to traditional laundry detergents but in a much more powerful, concentrated form.

What is the physical laundry sheet made of?

The non-woven sheet is made of polyester and the material is not recyclable.

Is the formula safe for children/babies clothes?

Similar to traditional softener products, such as Dryer Sheets or Liquid Softener, Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ is not intended for use on children’s sleepwear or other flame resistant fabrics as it may reduce flame resistance.

Should my Purex® 3-in-1™ starter kit dispenser be completely full?

No. The dispenser is designed to hold 20 to 24 sheets and still provide extra room for easy dispensing.

Does hot water melt the fabric softener strip?

Most traditional washer machines do not exceed a hot water temperate of 140 degrees. At this temperature the dryer strip will stay intact and not dissolve. If the washing machine exceeds 140 degrees, the laundry sheet it may lose some but not the entire dryer stripe. It is recommended to keep the water temperate under 140 degrees and ideally on the warm water setting.

Is the softener time released? If so how does this work?

The softener is heat released, not time released. Once it is placed in the dryer with the wet clothes, the heat activates the built-in release technology and releases the softener onto the clothes. The load size and dryer setting dictate the amount of softener that is released. More actives are released with larger loads and at the medium heat temperature setting.

How will Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ be packaged?

The starter kit includes a dispenser that protects the laundry sheets from moisture, which can impact the performance of the product in certain conditions. The refillable dispenser allows for easy access to obtain a laundry sheet. Once a user has the dispenser, they only need to buy refills going forward. The four additional sheets in the refill pack compensate the user for the lack of a dispenser.

Can you use Purex® Complete 3-in-1™ in HE machines?

Yes. The product formula is specially designed for both types of machines. However, please note that all machines are different. Specifically, due to the design of some front-loader washing machines, it is possible for small articles, such as socks, to pass through the gap between the drum and seal into the internal workings of the washer. If your front-loader washer has a visible gap, we recommend that you use a small mesh or delicates garment bag to contain the laundry sheet when used—just as you would do for other small items. Therefore, please always refer to your washer machine’s owners manual for operating procedures.

    How does spotting occur?

Similar to other softeners like liquid fabric softeners or dryer sheets, spotting can occur when the fabric softener ingredients are unevenly distributed on fabric. Spotting is usually temporary, especially if the spots are treated properly.

It should be noted that with certain fabric materials (including polyesters or other synthetic materials) spotting is more likely to occur. These fabric materials tend to attract more of the fabric softener ingredients than natural fibers (like cotton).

We recommend the following to minimize spotting:

    1. Always check your garment care tag for any special requirements related to fabric softener use.
    2. Do not over fill your dryer with laundry.
    3. Use medium heat rather than low or high heat settings.
    4. Use the auto dry setting vs. timed dry (using auto dry will also save energy and ensure your laundry is not over dried.)
    5. In some situations, large laundry items, like bed sheets, can create an environment prone to spotting since large laundry can rap around the laundry sheet trapping it from moving freely in the dryer.

If spotting occurs, rub with bar soap and rewash with warm water.
